INFUSE® One-Day FAQs

How does INFUSE® (kalifilcon A) One-Day moisture retention compare to other daily contact lenses?

INFUSE® lenses retained over 96% of their moisture after 16 hours of wear, and lost statistically significantly less water compared to all six comparator lenses (p<0.005 in all cases) according to recent data.1

Can INFUSE® help even if my patients already experience dryness with their current lenses?

Yes. A large-scale, real-world study of reusable contact lens wearers found that INFUSE® lenses performed well across both dryness and non-dryness groups. Survey results showed strong overall comfort ratings in both groups. Notably, participants who identified as experiencing dryness reported higher comfort-related agreement scores than those in the non-dry group.2*

What do real-world wearers and prescribers say about INFUSE®?

Patients and prescribers reported high overall satisfaction with INFUSE® contact lenses in a recent real-world study. Patient-reported satisfaction included overall comfort throughout the day (91%), clear vision throughout the day (90%), and ease of handling (92%). Among prescribers, 92% reported overall satisfaction, 96% said the lens was easy to fit, and 91% said they would recommend it to other ECPs.3†

Does INFUSE® Multifocal work for people with different pupil sizes?

Yes. Recent data found no meaningful correlation between pupil size and vision performance at distance, intermediate, or near. In the study, the INFUSE® Multifocal 3-Zone Progressive™ Design delivered favorable vision ratings across all distances for patients with a wide range of pupil sizes.4‡

How easy is it to get fitted for INFUSE® Multifocal, and what do real-world wearers say?

In a multicenter clinical study, 87.4% of participants were successfully fitted in one visit and 99.0% were successfully fitted in two visits. Eye care practitioners agreed that the lens fitting process was straightforward for all subjects and that the lens delivered clear vision and helped maintain a smooth, wettable lens surface. In a separate real-world evaluation, wearers also reported positive experiences, with 95.2% saying the lenses were comfortable all day, 92.3% saying they provided clear vision all day, and 95.6% saying they helped minimize contact lens dryness.6II

How stable is INFUSE® for Astigmatism on the eye, and what do wearers say?

Recent data showed that overall, the INFUSE® toric lenses exhibited excellent orientation and rotational stability. The effectiveness of toric contact lenses largely depends on their ability to achieve proper orientation and maintain rotational stability during wear. Mean absolute primary gaze orientation of the lenses was within 3° of the ideal orientation position at all time points and statistically significantly better than the ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day for ASTIGMATISM daily disposable lenses at all measured timepoints. After 30 seconds, 95% of INFUSE® for Astigmatism lenses were within 10° of the ideal orientation position compared to 83% of the ACUVUE OASYS toric lenses.

*Based on a 2-week, multicenter, real-world study of 393 adapted silicone hydrogel contact lens wearers (including dryness and non-dry subgroups). Outcomes were based on subject-reported comfort and vision ratings using a Likert scale and investigator assessments.

Based on a multicountry, real-world study of 9,577 adult patients fitted with kalifilcon A daily disposable lenses by 1,308 eye care practitioners across 11 European countries.

Based on a 3-week, single-arm, open-label clinical study of 292 habitual multifocal contact lens wearers aged ≥40 years. Visual acuity and patient-reported vision performance (0–100 scale) were assessed at distance, intermediate, and near.

§Based on a prospective, multicenter, single-arm, open-label clinical study of 294 habitual multifocal contact lens wearers aged ≥40 years across 20 US sites. Participants wore lenses for 3 weeks.

IIBased on a real-world evaluation of 151 presbyopic patients prescribed multifocal lenses in routine clinical practice. Participants wore lenses for 7–10 days before completing a survey assessing comfort, vision, and overall experience using a Likert scale.

Based on a bilateral, randomized, masked insertion study of 30 soft toric contact lens wearers. Lens orientation, rotational stability, centration, and movement were assessed over approximately 10 minutes of wear and compared with a daily disposable toric comparator lens.
